From WMTW-8:
WMTW-8 wrote:BIDDEFORD, Maine — Two cars of a freight train derailed in Biddeford Monday night.

Firefighters were sent to the scene at about 7:50 p.m. and found two tanker cars carrying liquid propane on their sides. Crews were able to detect a small leak using a combustible gas leak detector.

Railway officials also responded to the scene and the leak was monitored and controlled.

The York County HazMat Team remained at the scene all night to keep an eye on things.

Plans will be made to remove the cars and clear the derailment.

No one was hurt and firefighters said there was no danger to the public.

Because of the derailment blocking the tracks, the Amtrak Downeaster had to stop a northbound train in Wells and provide bus service for passengers looking to continue further north.

. . .
Pan Am Railways spokesperson Cynthia Scarano said the cause of the derailment is being investigated. The cars will be removed Wednesday when the proper equipment is in place. In the meantime, other trains are able to pass by the area, she said.

Is the wreck train coming out? If it is this could be about the last time we see it. I highly doubt CSX will be keeping it. Even if it's that decrepit over the road crane it could be the last time we see it too!

PO-4 was the job that derailed. It should take a few days to get everything back on the tracks. I suspect they will send the wreck equipment to the Hinkley Branch after, since they still have paper loads on the ground up there from a derailment several weeks ago.
