I rode the Hop River Trail in its entirety last year. The section I liked the best was from Bolton Notch to Vernon, with a lot of history kiosks especially around the Vernon station site. There is no original station, but there is a recreated station and the turntable area is excavated. Lots and lots of old telegraph poles still up in this stretch too. Its a very rural section, with nary a grade crossing from just east of Vernon station to 1/2 mile south of the 'Notch.
