Based off of a very brief STB filing, the new lines will be split between the Grand Elk Railroad and a new railroad called the Fox Valley & Lake Superior Rail System. Don't know what lines will be assigned to who. Also, a map! A lot of very disconnected lines with little to no traffic.

My guess is Musining to Trout Lake will be run by Grand Elk, currently running Grand Rapids MI to Elkhart IN. Presumably there's less paperwork involved since they're already based in Michigan.

The upper Wisconsin lines will be Fox Valley & Lake Superior.

There's the potential that FVLS could include Michigan operations if the White Pine copper mine gets moving again, but the employees would still be based out of WI. The mine closed in 1985 but was purchased in 2017 if I recall and the new owners are still going thru the preliminaries involved to resume mining. There's really nothing else on that line from Ironwood to White Pine. Maybe some pulpwood opportunities but thats already being trucked to transload sites today on active rail.
