1057 is showing brought in from Worcester to Framingham this afternoon by CSX X11116. Assuming it could have been something similar to Y120 or an extra B722 with 1057 tacked on but that is just a guess. Right now 1057 in on track 11 in north yard hooked up to a box car.

If it was brought in by just csx locos, then it’s Y120. If it had cars, then maybe B922 which is the train symbol of the extra run of B722. I wasn’t there nor did I hear the scanner, so I couldn’t tell you for sure. I betcha B725 took 1057 yesterday to middleboro. If not, then it will soon.

1065 and 1060, the last two units that went to Boise are the next to come back. Not sure if they'll return together or separately, but judging by how it was done with the 1074 and 1057, I would guess the latter. After 1060, it's all units that were done in Erie. It'll be interesting to see the MPI plaque on the side of 1060, as it may be one of the last locomotives of all time to wear an MPI Boise plaque. It'll be nice to start regularly seeing F40s more often. I guess we've all gotten used to almost a quarter of all F40s being out of state for overhaul, but soon enough, we'll start hearing more 645s more often.

Not sure what you mean by 645s but it will be nice to see more F40s again towards the end of this year if the rebuild program keeps to schedule. Still wondering what’s going to happen with the original F40s that’s sitting in Rochester taking up dust.

Someone told me that the screamers in Rochester have been stripped of their electronics. Unfortunately at this point, it seems that they're all basically mechanically totalled and it wouldn't be worth it to rebuild them as opposed to just buying new locos.

I get what you’re saying, but they could still rebuild them with just the shells left and put in all new electronics and mechanics just like they are doing to rebuild the mbb’s. If they were to scrap them, how come that hasn’t been done yet? Maybe waiting until these are done being completely rebuilt?

1052 & 1056 to Middleboro tomorrow on an extra from Readville. Possibly the next two headed to Erie...

Now hearing it could be the 1062 instead of the 1056...

We'll see...

Currently on the waiting list to get rebuilt: 1052, 1053, massdot blues 1056, 1062, and 1070 are next to get sent. Still awaiting 1057 and 1074 to get accepted back into service before some goes and I believe I saw on an earlier post that 1060 and 1065 are the last ones to return from Boise Idaho before the rest comes from Erie. Haven’t seen any updates whether they are on their way back or not

Update to my recap posted earlier this year:
1031 - Was the last unit to be completed at Boise.
1035 - Was the last to leave Boise on its own wheels, but not completed. Went direct to Erie. Back to Boston 2/7/20. Only unit delivered in 2020.
1051, 1064, 1066 were the first units to be shipped to Erie from Boston. Followed by the 1025, 1026 (2/08/20), 1058 (9/29/20) & 1069 (3/08/20).
1057, 1060,1064,1065 & 1074 plus one unknown unit were shipped on flatcars Boise to Erie.
1025,1026,1064,1066,1069 shells plus one unknown unit sent to Curry Rail for carbody work.
1057 returned 1/19/21
1074 returned 1/01/21

Those 2 units that are sitting in middleboro are more than likely to be sent out next once 1057 and 1074 are accepted back into service so that they will have enough locos to run the trains. 1074 should enter service any time now since I think someone posted earlier that it went on an extra to readville a while back. I do know that 1057 is in Rochester testing.

I'd be willing to bet that they can get away with sending the 1052 and 1056 west before accepting the 1057 and 1074. It's not like there's a power shortage. Of course, if they weren't running weekend schedules systemwide, then maybe that would be the case, but they're running like half of the trains they regularly would right now.
