MP X7.8 is the Temple Street/Rte. 140 grade crossing in West Boylston, 0.6 miles south of the southerly Rtes. 140/12 split.
Under the new order of things, Q426/427 is the principal traffic and usually is EB late-night and WB early-morning. The equipment detector -- as mentioned in other posts -- is a talker, has a low-powered transmitte,r and is also equipped for dragging-equipment detection. The actual location is just TT-east of the crossing, the equipment case and dragger detector readily visible. Depending on topography, it can go unheard from as few as 5 miles away, but I've also heard it from Rte. 2 in Westminster, a location of significant elevation advantage and favorable topography for hearing the 7.8.
Perhaps since residue tanks instead of loads are in the WBs, the MP X16.6 talker in Clinton has been allowed to remain OOS for a number of years.
