I was looking at old Conrail-era commuter timetables, and this 1980 map confirms that in those days the only service west of Dover was on the Boonton Line, and all Morristown Line trains terminated at Dover.
Nowadays you can get from Hackettstown to Morristown OR to Boonton. So my questions are...
1. When did Netcong-Morristown service begin again? Was it with the Netcong-Hackettstown extension or independent of that?
2. Was there a technical reason they could only run Netcong trains on the Boonton Line, or was it just to make the schedule simpler?
