BRT, some no name brand genset.
GMTX 2199 got misrouted back to NYA, after being shipped out on Tuesday. Shipped back out to CSX yesterday.

Looks like that genset is at Bay Ridge - it's far back in the yard. Red & Blue. I'll post a photo later.

Anybody know when this unit is going to make its way out to BRT on the RS60? Will it be during the day or at night? Thanks

Due to a case of flat spots(wheels) the new genset made it all the way towards here and has to be sent back to the builder in Texas. It was probably dragged in a consist along the way or handbrake was left on which in turn flattened the wheels :( :(

For what it's worth here's the genset at 65th street - waaaaay back there. + NYNJRR 1133 being worked on next to 2200.

Wonder if that Genset was handled by CSX,Flat spots on the wheels could be to the point
that it would be rejected at the interchange, would be cheaper to have replacement wheelsets shipped
to a contract shop(the M+E shop, maybe?) and get the swap done than shipping the genset back to Texas!

Does NY+A shop at Fresh Pond have a drop pit ?
Figure on LIRR charging $$$ for wheelset swaping at Morris Park.
That would include swapping over the traction motors to the new wheelsets. :(

I was thinking the same. What RR would want to drag it all the way back to TX? I'd imagine csx or ns have a capable shop nearby, or M&E could certainly do the work (though it would have to get over NJT to get out there - guessing these commuter agencies don't want equipment like that bouncing down their tracks).

It's not going to go all the way back to Texas. Interchange rules dictate that the last railroad that accepts it in interchange "owns" any defects and is responsible for the repairs. So do the math...Last railroad to accept it would be NYNJ Railroad.
