The Mt. Union connecting RR (Mt. Union) can now be added to the list of
locations served by Altoona local C42.

In November, MTC received its first official shipment. The 2nd is sitting at
the loading dock right now.

The MTC still does not have an operational locomotive and still has another mile of railroad to reopen, but NS has agreed to serve the Mt Union Yard (if you could call two tracks a yard). C42 backs down the yard tracks, presumably while on its way back from serving Mifflin.

Blue Rock Pallets has been getting a single boxcar load of pallet wood to
transload into three trucks to take to their facility. I have no idea where it
is.

Blue Rock Pallets is the only customer so far. That's all I know.

I know this was discussed and promised for years (at least since 1998, according to the linked site), and then it sort of dropped off the planet.
Cool to see Mount Union freight service finally begin - cheers!

Well this is interesting because I was there Monday and there was a crew working on pulling old ties on the "main" leading up to the loading dock that was built for replacement. Wonder what's going on.
