In this day and age is the NEC running with less, same, or more commuter/passenger trains between LANE (Elizabeth, NJ) and points south (e.g. Philly, DC) ?

According from what I have heard and seen, 4 of them or so were ran last year. However, due to various reasons including increased premiums, they don' run them anymore.

I was able to see one pass through New Brunswick in October or November of 2003. Nice to see. It had 4 NS Geeps or SDs (couldn't tell.) Just ashame it didn't last.

EDIT: And here's a photo from Railpictures.net.
