Gotta love how the PANYNJ wrote:The Port Authority is financially self-supporting and receives no tax revenue from either state
Yeahh, right...they didn't build the JFK Airtrain out-of-pocket—they got a piece of airline ticket surcharges to do that, revenue that usually goes where? the state government. Also funny how they leave out the federal government from that little argument, too...

I'd have a friendlier eye towards this project if it was more focused on exports rather than imports.

What exports????? You don't need rail (or trucks) to send a print of a movie to the Far East to make DVDs. You don't need them to send recordings to the Far East to manufacture CDs. You don't need them to send blueprints to Mexico/Australia/Korea/etc. to manufacture cars and trucks. You don't need them to send the design to a Southeast Asian sweatshop to manufacture clothing. You don't need a train to ship bonds and treasury notes to China and Japan.

And you certainly don't need trains to send manufacturing jobs overseas.
