Pedal power a new twist to travelling forgotten railway

"Riding half a metre off the ground, the intermittent click-clack of the plastic wheels on the railway breaks the silence. A goat darts off the tracks, another nibbles on the grass to the side. We're riding a railway that they started building more than 100 years ago and until the 1980s carried coal, freight and passengers between Taumaranui and Stratford.

But instead of steam or diesel, we're travelling under pedal power."
