Thanks for the information. After seeing it a couple days now I figured it wasn't for the horsepower ;-)

Really was kicking myself last evening...both GP-40's, both SD's and at least one U boat all in North Towanda and me with no camera.........

Admittedly not just confined to the LRWY, but all in Sayre:

Some track work in process at the LRWY end of the yard. Also what could pass for a transload facility sometime in the middle of the yard (no offloading equipment - so it doesn't appear operative).

They've been doing track work in Sayre for awhile now.Thursday saw 2304(U23B)1751(GP9) in the yard at Sayre good size train in(out).

Unfortunately in a hurry for an appointment in Towanda today, but when passing the siding there noticed a shiney GP38 or GP40 in black paint there.... anyone news on that?

Stopped up to N. Towanda last week and got a chance to look and also to chat briefly with the crew. One of the 40's had been painted and they were going to paint the other one very soon. Also the third 40 was showing signs of life and once that one came up north, the GP9 was going south. The SD's had been painted too and the next night I saw them parked north of the bridge in the evening. Sounds like all units are now black with white trim and lettered for the Lehigh.

The 3002 is the only one not painted yet, which hasn't seen service since it showed up. I'm told once its up and running, which should be soon as all the mechanical work is just about completed, it will get a new coat of paint.

Stopped last night to look and found both 40's parked. First pictures I have of the new paint on them. Stopped again this afternoon after church when I saw the train parked on the bridge and saw the SD's were up front. Looked like both crews were there, but my wife wouldn't let me stop and get out. She figured we'd be there for a lot longer than what she wanted. :-) So...we pulled down circled and left again. :-(

Had the chance to swing by Owego and Towanda last weekend!
The former LRWY 2302 is now officially with the Owego & Harford, she has even been relettered on the longhood!

All the O&H locomotives were in Owego *except* for SW1 number 40:

anyone know where 40 is?

Over in Towanda, I *finally* got to see the TMSL unit in person! :) (first time ever! for me..)

Image

anyone know if 26 is now formally owned by the Reading & Northern? or was she not transferred to the R&N?

And the shiny new (new paint) Lehigh Railway GP40's..you could smell the fresh paint! :)
(3001 is labeled GP40-2, on the front of the frame, and 3003 is marked as a GP40)

At first, I wasnt a big fan of the O&H "corporate black" paint scheme..but I have to say, those GP40's are SHARP! Image

I have to get the OHRY and LRWY roster pages updated:

I will get to that soon..
thanks,
Scot

^Thanks for the pics, Scot.

I'm sure #26 is now owned by the BM&R. Do they use it to switch the line?

I don't believe 26 has been run since R&N took over. It was advertised for sale on the R&N website awhile back, but I haven't checked lately. There "should" be a green unit in the TMSL shed, but also haven't checked lately. Rumor is the line hasn't been used for the last couple of months...concerning a dispute between them and the feed mill as to who is responsible for fixing a couple of washouts south of Towanda.

^You're kidding?! Fix the damn washout and move some freight!

#26 is still for sale on the RBMN website for $25,000

And last but not least, the LS 2302:

I'll be heading out that way again tomorrow to see what's around. I also plan on going out to Towanda on Saturday. Anyone know if anything is going to be moving?
