I saw these engines assigned to NS local H90 as it pulled the RBBB blue unit circus from Croxton Yard in Secaucus, New Jersey to Elizabeth, New Jersey to hand the train off to Amtrak.

I was told that these are rebuilt GP38-2s. Can someone tell me what these engines were orginally? Any information on them is appreciated.

Here's a photo of the 5810 taken at NJT's North Elizabeth station last March. The 5810 was assigned to the circus train along with GP40-2 3010. The crew is on their way back to Croxton Yard in this photo.
