Hello: Ive been told that (and seen a few photos of) some Lake Shore Electric Railway carbodies in northern Ohio.....one at least in Delta. Ive passed through the area several times and haven't had much luck in locating them. I recall seeing a photo of one adjacent the ex-NY Central mainline.

Can anyone give better location info and details on current status?

Really any info on surviving streetcar bodies would be appreciated, as I much enjoy photographing and documenting them.

THANKS!

The Northern Ohio Railway Museum is the place to visit to see the most LSE equipment in one location. In the post, LSE 149 was mentioned as being located along the ex NYC in Delta, Ohio. It is no longer there. This car now resides in one of our carbarns. Here is the museum's roster of LSE and subsidiary equipment. Cars stored indoors are on trucks.

#83, city car for Lorain Street Railroad, American 1895. Stored indoors
#149, wood coach, Niles 1907. Stored indoors
#151, wood coach, Niles 1906. Stored indoors
#181, steel coach, Jewett 1918.
#42, freight motor, Niles 1907.
#464, freight trailer, LSE, 1919

Recent pictures of many of these cars can be found at davesrailpix.com Many of these pictures are the last views taken before these cars were switched indoors. The museum is open Saturdays 10 to 4, Spring through Fall for visitors. Other times by appointment. A museum volunteer will tour you through the carbarns and grounds to show you the collection.
