Hunts Point Market

Amazingly I could not find a topic on this branch! Here’s a nice instagram post from one of our members.

It's a fun train to watch if you can catch it. I believe it runs a few times per week (if not daily?). They pull up pull up their lead track from Oak Point next to the NEC, and then back down this short branch caboose-first. I'm not sure how it is now after the ROW's been improved but it used to stop often so workers from nearby businesses could move their cars and trucks off the tracks.

Hunts Point Market is a huge food hub for all of NYC. It's a pretty important little line all things considered.

Wow, this looks like it'd be a fun line to model. Here's something I've never seen, which is a protected crossing (including gates) for a garage door:
