NETransit updated yesterday. 1138 is now assigned North. I'm not sure if its still on the switcher (but would just be based out of BET now), or if its being moved onto a revenue consist, but I'm hoping for the latter. Maybe we'll get one of those doubleheaders for a bit like they do with the 3C rebuilds.

1138 is a dud, failed ACSES

From a reliable source just last week, 904 was to be fixed up and outfitted with cab signals. Although plans do seem to change on a nearly daily basis....
false......the 904 IS being prepped for travel. Heading up North to a different RR

Urbey did note that plans seemed to be changing continuously. Latest rumor that has made it to me agrees with 1050's report, though I take issue with it. It is my hope that it is desired for a very specific reason which, once plucked, the unit will be sent to a museum which is well suited (with its sister) to restore it, perhaps to SEMTA configuration.

If it failed ACSES, how did it run the switcher 12/31/23 which uses the Worc/Fair lines (which are equipped with cab signals)

computers my friend, glitches. Works one day, not the next. If it doesn't pass its initial test, its considered failed until repaired or tested again. The 1138 was supped to be the loco for the RDC move last week to Billerica, but failed its test

Not sure why but 1138 lead the dinner train last Friday southbound. I also heard from others that the hep blew up and started smoking while the prime mover stopped working. Perhaps it’s time to find better parts for it. Idk to be honest.

I'm late but 1138 was also on the geo train recently, with 1062, comets, rotems & the amtrak geo coach. Seen on N/R line 1-2 days ago by a friend.

1138 is now in revenue service as of today w/ 1704 cab. I’m currently on its train to Lowell. It supposedly had HEP issues on its Rockport trip but it’s fine for me so far.

Moving on from 1138, which one is next to be rebuilt in Rochester. 1117, 1129, or 1130? I know 1118 and 1132 are last since they require the most work as stated earlier in the thread.
