For what it is worth.

Please allow a brief "fair use" quote:
NJ Transit’s executive director could be among the staffing changes being made by the Christie administration as the governor prepares to begin his second term, multiple sources familiar with the agency said. Jim Weinstein, who oversaw a rough period in NJ Transit’s history, with the cancellation of a Hudson River tunnel project and a massive storm that sunk hundreds of pieces of rail equipment under brackish water, is likely to be replaced following the Feb. 2 Super Bowl by Veronique “Ronnie” Hakim, now executive director of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority, the sources said. Hakim was seen going into the executive offices in Newark after the January board meeting. - See more at: http://www.northjersey.com/news/Governo ... And remember, priority number one of the new leadership is to close the Hudson Tunnels during the day of the Super Bowl!!

Good thing that won't happen since NJT doesn't even own the North River Tunnels!!

But they do own trains that could strategically fail in the middle of the tunnel like they do from time to time anyway. :P

Edit: Ms. Hakim was appointed Executive Director of the NJTP 9/10. The Comtroller's probe began in 10/10. She may be seen as a "cleaner" that will solicit the help of the Comptroller's office to "tighten the belt" at NJT.

I don't know much about the proposed replacement, but outgoing New Jersey State Comptroller Matthew Boxer worked with her in this document.

Well, it is official, he's stepping down. People have been clamoring for it for quite some time now. Personally, despite all the "bad" things that happened, he's done some good too. It hasn't been the best four years for NJT, but it wasn't all bad. Lessons were learned and improvements were made. I wish him well.

It is not what you know, but who knows you. How convenient, she's from Livingston. Non-lawyers need not apply. What happened to promotion from within? There are good and proper bus and trainmen who put their way through school, got degrees: law, etc. They know the job and the place and one of them cannot be promoted. That is a disgrace. Govt. never attracted good people.
