My grandma lives in a small borough in Pennsylvania, just up the hill from a former Conrail line that ran across the river from Leechburg and went through the borough to Vandergrift and on from there. Who's line is that now, and how often do they use it for now? I plan to get some videos down by the Hyde Park Foundry next time I go back up to visit my grandparents. :D

Found this link to a web page with rail system maps - see post in this forum by mst145: Trackcharts & Timetables (http://www.railroad.net/forums/viewtopi ... 52&t=55490). It shows the line as now part of Norfolk Southern, with a Buffalo & Pittsburg line just to the north. After you download the rather large file, you can zoom in with the PDF reader.
Have fun...

Yup, it's the stretch between Leechburg and Vandergrift. Thanks!

At least now I know what to expect when I go up there this Christmas.

EDIT: I talked to my parents, and apparently through the borough of Hyde Park, there used to be double track. Anyone know what the line was used for?
