The B23-7 was very common in CT (pre and early Connecticut Southern) and on the B&A when I was a much more active railfan. I always liked them, as they sounded great and seemed ready for any assignment. How many ex Conrail units are still active?

Did all the ex CSO B23-7's (inc the 2 high hood ones) get scrapped after they left Connecticut?

Thanks for any info.

Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway has one ex-Conrail B23-7; it's their #2000, still in Conrail blue.

Finger Lakes Railway has several B23-7s, and I believe at least two or three of them are ex-Conrail.

Finger Lakes Railway has Twelve B23-7's..Four of them are originally Conrail units,
the former CR 1943, 1979, 1989, and 2004.

Two have been repainted into FGLK lightning stripes,
One (number 1989) is still in CR blue! and still wearing her CR number!
she has been operating in CR blue with FGLK since she arrived on FGLK in 1999..
the story goes that she was freshly repainted by Conrail just before she was sold..and the paint was so fresh
and good (and still is) that FGLK hasnt yet bothered to repaint her, since there is no need..

1943 was sold to FGLK only a few months ago, and is also still in CR blue:
