FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ERIE LACKAWANNA DINING CAR PRESERVATION SOCIETY, INC.

SEPT 23, 2004 -- ELDCPS's Diner 741, and Pullman City of Lima, along with Erie Lackawanna Equipment Leasing's EL coach 1318, and Pullman "American Way II" have moved from Ozark Mountain Railcar at Hollister, Missouri to Mid-West Locomotive in Kansas City, MO. ELDCPS and OMR jointly decided in late July to move all the equipment to a better equipped shop, so that the restoration of the cars may proceed at a much faster pace. ELDCPS has been very pleased at the work OMR has already completed for us, and OMR President John Suscheck will work closely with Mid-West Locomotive and ELDCPS. Although primarily a private locomotive rebuilding shop, Mid-West is located at a former GE facility in Kansas City, with several enclosed shops, overhead cranes, and a paint booth. Mid-West has assured us that Diner 741 will be the top priority, and they plan to move it into the shop immediately. As soon as we have progress to report, we will so do so on our website, www.eldcps.org, and in the next issue of our newsletter, "The Diner Digest." For the time being, there is no public access to Mid-West. We look forward to working with Mid-West as we move THE LAKE CITIES project closer to completion.

Would you be more correct in saying the dining car has been moved to Mid-America Car. I live in the Kansas City area and I know of Mid-America Car near the KCS Yards in KC but not sure about Mid-West. Hope to get a few pix of the cars.

No, it is the Mid-America Locomotive, the former GE facility. The car repair facility is a different place.
