Are all the yard buildings at Steamtown, the orginal buildings ?
What I mean is did under Conrail they change or knock down any of the Buildings and had to be rebuilt for Steamtown ?

Many buildings in the area were either knocked down by Conrail or by the National Parks Service. The majority of, if not the entire, roundhouse is new.

While the roundhouse may be largely new, the attached diesel shops(to the rear of the roundhouse) are original, and still standing and in operation. Also, the building which houses Steamtown's administrative offices is an original, as is the Bridge 60 Tower. My educated guess is that Conrail didn't knock down any buildings. Rather, Conrail neglected them to the point where they were beyond repair when the NPS came along. And I'm near certain at least one building - long empty - burned down after the NPS acquisition.

There is a large building, the last built by the DL&W, that is now privately owned.

The original steamtown diarama included various pictures of the site. I went to college '72 to 76' and the picture ofd that era shows how it really was. There was an EL circus ramp doing piggybacks alot of weeds and junk. They really 'saved' this area. Just my $0.02
