Pretty much in spite of Otto's sarcasm......certainly not because of.....I found a hosting site.

These photos show turbine blades on flats. From these shots, it's hard to see how far out these blades really hang on a curve.

Here is the Susie-Q SD45 last spring. She is now MIA as the turbines are being loaded where she used to sit.

Here is the engine Mike was refering to. In the second shot, you can see the AMP switcher.

Last time I worked there, about 3 weeks ago, there were a beautifully refurbished pair of engines for a North Carolina line, looked like commuter engines. I was too busy to catch a shot of them.

Milford, UT.
Milford is a small town but has a diner and a store or two that are open 24/7 becuase it is a crew change stop for UP crews.

That maroon unit is an ex-Amtrak F40PH, one of several that the Iron Roads group cut the nose down on to add a front deck for frieght service. Iron Roads had operated what's now the Montreal, Maine & Atlantic - the Bangor & Aroostook and some ex-CP lines, among other stuff.

When I visited Dansville on Thursday, I did not have my original pic of the Dansville yard with me from 1987:

A new firehall has been built where the yard and enginehouse used to be:

What was this building?

Here's the end of the original D&MM main in Dansville:

The building shown in your pictures is the Dansville station. It was the headquarters of the Dansville & Mount Morris RR, which was owned by the Hart family. I remember calling on GM Bob Hart there in the 1960's.

So the single-door concrete block engine house is gone? I thought the last time I was there is was still up by the street and the firehall was opposite it. I took some measurements of the engine house.

Crane's Antiques auctioned off the contents Dansville depot on behalf of the Hart Family on December 1. The D&MM Railroad was purchased by the Genesee & Wyoming in 1985, but the Hart Family retained ownership of the depot to the present day. The depot is for sale and its future is uncertain.

I posted photos from the auction, including a high-resolution scan of a 1924 map from the D&MM publication, "Industrial Possibilities of Dansville" on the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum's facebook page.
