The drawbridge over the New River in Fort Lauderdale is dis-abled and can not be closed or opened. It is to remain open until repairs have been made which is probably sometime Saturday. Thus there is no CSX service in these parts. Tri-Rail and Amtrak are not affected as they use the high level bridge over the New River but CSX does not use it and it is right in their timetable that CSX trains are not allowed on that stretch. So far the freight is just waiting for the repairs to take place, they could detour on the Florida East Coast but for some reason they have chosen not to do that.

One regular through freight train each way between Hialeah and Waycross, GA, one or two extras each way a day with rock north and empties south and several local freights both out of Hialeah and out of Fort Lauderdale. There is a considerable amount of local business all along this route between Hialeah and West Palm Beach.
