I rode 1115 into Boston at 10:00 and 1016 on the way back to Lowell today at 4:10.

This morning it looked like 1051 was on the front (north) side of the BET this morning. The engine I saw was on one of the tracks closest to the employee parking lot and had a lot of grime on the head end. I am guessing that's 1051 with all the oil it got all over itself.
That said it also looked like there were still 8 engines on the 'dead line' side of the BET which would mean that another engine had joined the ranks or that what I saw on the front side was not 1051.

Nine (or maybe ten ???) engines in the long term out-of-service group sure seems like a lot... 904, 1921 (retired), 1006, 1011, 1014 (at NRE), 1051, 1116, 1132, 1136 are all in this group.

It appears that the MBTA receives it locomotive fuel deliveries via truck and not rail (the tanks are adjacent to active trackage).
I guess it is not surprising, but it is kind of sad.

The 902 brought 1026 north last night through Kendall Sq. Caught it about 9:15 at the Broadway crossing (after getting enough friendly ribbing from my girlfriend about stopping to watch the train) as we headed back to Kendall. Nothing else on the move -- just the 1026.

Looks like 2 more units out-of-service (at least for a couple of days) after back to back grade crossing accidents in Beverly. It sure could make it difficult to find enough in service units for a little while.

Coming into Boston today on 314 being pushed in by 1013. Coming in no problems but the 454 was being pulled in(engine in front) by Guilford(B&M)330 1117 was the engine on that train must have been a fun ride. Also the test train is gone from the fuel depot didn't see it anywhere else around BET.Does anybody know if the new cars have been accepted.

Yes, the 1117 bought the farm right out of Fitchburg this morning and was towed in by a GP40 Guilford loaned out.

The 1003 was involved in today's latest Beverly Train vs auto incident.
The 1001 messed up too on No.153.

The evening rush hour was no better as the 1056 briefly croaked in North Station. Already down equipment, this just cascaded into a bunch of delays.

As for the new K-cars, seeing as they haven't been tested on the Southside as yet...probably not accepted.

thank you D, was the train pulling or pushing in that accident?
  by GP40MC1118

Both trains in the Beverly incidents were pulling.

BTW, the 1118 bought the farm tonight on 431 at S.Acton.
