Perhaps it was pulled inside for repairs.

I dont think an oil stain would put it on the dead line. They probably just had to clean it out when they got to it. she'll probably be back on the road in about a week :-D

The 1051 died at Lynn during the Blizzard on Train No.1121. The 1009
came out of Boston and continued to Rockport as No.1121, while the
1051 was brought back to BET.

Heavy smoke/fumes and oil covered not only the 1051, but the
trailing coach. Maybe a turbocharger blew or some major oil lne
for the prime mover or HEP unit. Don't know.

GP40MC was with the new Kawasaki's this morning (and the last few days), so it appears that it is not OOS.

Another GP-40 set dead at Fitchburg this morning. 410 cancelled west of South Acton, 410's crew used to run 412's time. An extra with another GP-40 was called out of Boston to cover 410's schedule from South Acton to Boston. The extra from Boston was belching smoke something fierce as it made a run for the hill.

A work extra from Boston with 3247 and a string of side dump cars went out to Fitchburg with scrap ties and returned with the dead train set.

The old F-40's aren't "screaming" they're just "purring" load!

Snoozer:

That was the illustrious 1133 out to FG this morning. And the 1115
was the smoker sent to S.Acton. Misery loves company....

The GP40MC's aren't gonna last much longer.

Passengers also will start getting back in their cars if this doesn't stop.

The only good units left are the Screamers. The F40PH-2C's and F40PHM-2C's are having their own problems since rebuild.

I will start a new thread soon, but i wanted to set a MBTA forum record of 10,000 views first. Were at 9281. After we hit 10,000, i will start a new thread and will do so after hitting 10 pages from now on. Who's with me???? Let's set a record!!!!!!!

Ok, 1051 is no longer in the deadline, but why are there now FOUR GP40MC's out there????? Geez, one more and 1/5th of the fleet is dead. This is really getting sad.

And yes, on the way home i had 1017 BON-FIB.

The 1051 was out in the dead line Saturday, I believe ahead of the 1921.

I didn't see 1921 out there, but in addition to the 1006, 1011, and the 4 GP40MC's, either 902 or 904 was back there too.
