Hello :-)
Would the engine status of the slave eninges (in a multi engine constist) transmitted to the leading engine, so that the engineer can have a look to the technical datas *) from all engines?

In videos it is sometimes visilbe that a crew member is going from one engine to another enigne. Is he checking the ohter engines for their status?

*)
technical datas for example diesel-motor and traktion motor temperature on the 'security' site
and current traktion effort or independent brake force on the 'train leading' site.

(So a bar graph diagramm shows the traktion effort of every conncet engine, and
on another display all error messages of all engine are visilbe for example.)

Okay| i think if this is in use, it can be found found only in modern cabs!?!

On the headend when running a DP train you can see whats going on way back there, but the information just comes from the unit back there thats set up for remote (UP 7003). The information is pretty basic, air brake status, tractive effort, and what run its in, which you can have it be the same as the headend or controlled separately. Theres more to it but thats basically it.

--------9341-6754-(7003 in remote)--------------5645-9237-7645 (headend)

When you see an engineer doing his "walk threw" before blasting off he's checking out what he's got. (MOST OF THE TIME) Unless theres an alarm bell going off most of the time theres no need to check out the computer screens. Make sure its online, dyno brakes are cut in or cut out, check out the paperwork in the cab and your good to take off when you get back up to the headend.
