Only a handful of DC AEM-7s have been scrapped. Some of the sidelined Remans are stored serviceable while the rest of the Remans and remaining DCs are decommissioned, meaning they will not be used again. I am not giving out the numbers.

Umm, they are still AEM-7s and MARC has two Amtrak units operating with an additional unit in protect. Their DCs haven't been used in some time, but they are still active...so far.

At least one, the 946 was in MARC service today.
Interesting thing about the 946 is reached its date, and it was put back in service. It's good for another 90 days. Its not the only one so it nice to see them kicking about. A new ACS is about to head east in the next few days, but this is the first one in quite some time. I supposed they need to keep the Remans around for a while longer.
