Details are sketchy and different depending where you look but apparently a Light Rail tram in Houston went into the side of a bus causing the tram to derail.

Seems like Houston transit operators are under pressure to "push it". BOTH operators will be ruled at fault by their supervisors now, and will face a nice little unpaid vacation at the very least. :(

But guess what? The planners who made a schedule that no-one can keep are not going to have their pay docked for the thousands in damage (+ thousands in customer claims) their idiocy has just engendered. And as long as no-one dies, the GM who tasked the planners to shave off all those minutes to save money will not find their job in any danger.

Yeah, just keep pushing everything down to your front-line employee. Then wonder out loud why the public thinks your operators are "surly".
