What kinds of materials are shipped by rail in Connecticut?

Wondering what kinds of freight is shipped through Connecticut? Someone told me there are liquefied natural gas trains that run through the state, but I couldn't find anything to back that up. Is it mainly aggregate? Are there hazardous materials? Anywhere I should look for this information?

They probably meant liquified petroleum gas (LPG), a.k.a. propane. It is very common for LPG to be transported by train pretty much anywhere/everywhere in America.

A significant amount of construction and demolition debris is loaded in then shipped out of CT. Housatonic, Naugatuck- Pan Am Southern, Providence and Worcester, and Conn. Southern and I think New England Central are active carriers. Other significant freight includes limestone, aggregates, lumber, steel, grain/feed and paper.

Scrap metal, rubber (liquid), plastics are the other big ones.

Safety-Kleen in New Haven ships out waste oil.
Liquified industrial gases to Praxair in Suffield and Airgas in Enfield.
Cement to Palumbo in New Haven.
