VRS pooled power again and ran an extra on Sunday, bringing 26 cars down to Newport with 3 units. 2280 and 206 have been on the rotation this week.

Tuesday's WJNP was 7 cars.

Today's WJNP was through St. Johnsbury at 16:23 with 2280/206 and 8 cars.

NHV - question for you as it's been over a decade since I've bee up this way. Do the crews make it WRJ to Newport in one day and come back or do thy split the line from WRJ to St. J and St. J to Newport?

Also, it seems like some of these are pretty small (3 or 4 cars). How much industry is there to keep this line afloat long term?

Neither... they run one direction each day depending on where they start. If they start in Newport, they may make a run up to Farnham and back for WRJ/Newport bound cars before heading all the way south. They may also pool power with CP for the runs north to Farnham, and south to WRJ. The line has been upgraded to the point where much of it is 25 now.

There were a few instances this winter where a unit was left in St. Johnsbury, and another crew switched the salt shed while the Newport Crew took care of business up north.

There's storage for OMYA/Bourne's, Morrison's Feed in Barnet, the salt shed that moved from Ely to St. Johnsbury, CTI in Lyndonville and Barton.

Today's WJNP left White River Junction at 10:28 with 206 and 23 cars.
