The DE cars won't run in MU any more than 2 cars.
4 was tried some years ago during an ice storm and it wouldn't work.

Don't know about the SE cars, but the DE cars can't run more than 2.....

The N5's will do at least 4 though...

My info was from the Kawasaki instruction manuals on the cars; they applied to both the DE and SE cars. If it won't work now, no doubt it was through something SEPTA did; after all they have been overhauled at least twice since arriving in town back in 1981. I would not be shocked if they made changes.

Heck, they all long ago lost the original air compressors that sounded like a giant fart when shutting off....the current ones let out a more civilized hiss. :-D
