FL-9 #484 is now in Morristown coupled to the ME RS-1.

The Metro-North F unit looks to have its prime mover removed maybe to be used in the 484??

You guys here anything about the M&E acquiring a P&W U23? And what is this SIXX loco the General is talking about? Didn't they own the big MLWs the Susie-Q has been plagued with?

Was heading SB on the NJTP yesterday. There was what appeared to be
either an SW1200 or 1500(not sure) switching Bayway refinery. Number
on it was 53 or 553 I think.

RPRX 557 has been moved to Bayway, M&E 19 to Tropicanna, and M&E 4223 Back to Morristown for WNYP in the near future.

Scorecard: Feel free to edit, going by posts and visuals:

Maine: 488, 489, 764, 3573
Morristown: 18, 21 (s/s), 4231 (shop), 7215 (shop)
Bayway: 20, 553, 557
Tropicanna: 19, 4216

Heading to WNYP: 4223, 4228 (allegedly; would move from Maine), 4264

Stored: 265, 291, 484, 485, 486, 487, 2017, 3562, 4240 (parts)

In addition to the dispositions and scrappings, a couple MOW trucks went south on 287 on a flatbed with the M&E logos lined out. Major spring cleaning?

Apparently so...
One of the scrap guys told me that one of the cranes are going to at Jefferson Ave, however I don't recall which.

Also add the 7204 and privately owned 7212, both stored on M&E property.

Is the Maine Eastern still using an LLPX GP15-1?

  by Angus202

The 484 and 2017 were pulled from the hill this afternoon and positioned next to a "Safety-Kleen" recycling service truck, not sure if they were pumping out the fuel tank or oil pan, but seems like 2017's prime mover is about to be yanked. I can't figure out why they'd need another F, so is the 484 going into service or being readied for scrap as well?

MEC - I believe all the LLPX units have been off the property for some time. Currently at Maine Eastern:

488/489 FL-9's for the passenger job

764 GP-9/10 which (judging from limited observation and posting on here) seems to work Brunswick end of the line.

4228 and the M-420 (# escapes me) which seem to hold down the cement job and pinch hit on the passenger train when necessary [why put a clean nice looking 764 on a passenger job when you can use something that looks like the dogs lunch (sorry just a pet peeve with managements seeming aversion in Maine or New Jersey to washing a locomotive more than every 5 years).

I'm unaware of any other power currently on the line. It will be interesting to see if/with what they replace 4228 which is supposed to be leaving for lease to the WNY&P.
