Since apparently the main thread has disappeared:

Any bets on what might come out of this, besides the fact that it sounds like they want to do a study on service via Mountain View, since that parallels 23 a bit.

This NYSW service through Sussex County has been talked about for 20+ years and nothing has ever come of it. I really doubt anything is going to change in our lifetimes... Running it via Mountain View would be a disaster due to NIMBY's in Morris County and slow transit times through Montclair.

Does anyone have any old photos of the Haskell NJ Station circa 1960?

It wouldn't be so bad if NJT did not use the Boonton diesels to serve so many stops east of MSU. These stations should be served by their own MU trains to Hoboken so the diesels can bypass many of these closely bunched stations. Nothing sucks more than a 5 or 6 car train making every stop through Montclair.

Last time I checked, there are only 2 AM peak MSU-Hoboken Arrow III runs....4 years ago there were 5.
