At least that map shows the whole Nanuet wye. Until 1991 the original station on the wye remained. Seeing the Maybrook Line brings up that had the Poughkeepsie Bridge were to be returned to service four MNCR lines would be connected: Port Jervis, Harlem, Danbury and Waterbury. The Orange Station on ...

It is not as if passengers needed to be rousted at 0-dark-30 as they would if the 1-21 or 7-27.and v.v. cars were eliminated. It also forces the Boston Mechanical Department to inventory parts to work on a bad ordered Viewliner and the outside contractor commissary to supply linens and possibly men...

Also would allow selected peak express trains to skip Ruggles and Back Bay.

@Tadman: Your map proposal would have New England losing direct Midwest service. Reportedly late Senator
Ted Kennedy was a driving force in keeping through service on 448/449.

The closest to a standard streetcar was the Boeing in the 1970s.

Recall that Philadelphia is broad gauge and legacy systems such as the MBTA Green Line and SEPTA Market Street
Line have loading gauge restrictions. The retired TTC CLRVs and 1981 Kawasakis are reportedly very similar in dimensions.

Much like the Amtrak delays on Class I lines. But the class I carriers always call the shots, when they are the owners. I recall reading back when MARC was CSX operated, the Maryland MTA website mentioned delays were often beyond control, due to CSX dispatchers giving priority. Most commuter lines i...

MBTA MBBs and Comets at SEPTA, the latter once new CRRCs arrive?

AMT has some single level Comets as well, but low door only.

140 series Regionals change at New Haven. On the Lake Shore, does the P42 run through on 448/449 while a P32 does 48/49? Even with the Shore Line East fully wired, could it still be possible to have Regionals broken up into two trains, with the front section with the ACS-64 running to Boston and the...

Recognized the author as David Alan of Ameristar and the Lackawanna Coaltion. The Hudson Bay could qualify as a third LD train in the VIA network. For an interesting armchair tour, pick up a copy of the AAA/CAA Manitoba/Saskatchewan map at any AAA location and you can explore the line, with every fl...

The Hudson River crossing is absolutely "last mile". Don't forget PRR had the H&M or PATH trains as well. A similar situation could the 30 Street-Center City connection as SEPTA allows Amtrak passengers at no charge between Center City and 30 Street. Until Penn Station opened in 1910,...

The "Wilbur Cross Parkway" station would be under the Sikorsky Bridge, inaccessible. Seeing the Mill Plain station reminds that the depot is at DRM under restoration. It had been suggested previously on this site that DRM could run the RDC as a shuttle as far as the Fair Grounds (now the m...

Last time I was in STL I was surprised to see a couple amfleets and horizons in a black/blue window band that we now know is for the Mexicans. I didn't like it becauase we have this huge coach shortage and meanwhile we're wholesaling our working fleet to Mexico. Makes no sense. The SPVs were ConnDO...
