Late last night caught 3 MP-15's (2 up front, 1 behind) slowly hauling a long welded rail train up the grade between Wyandanch and Deer Park.

Rode by the entrance to the Astro yard today. Cars still being unloaded there.

Crossed over the Carl's Path crossing today. East of the crossing just slightly past where the old Pinter Brothers switch was there is now a segment of track (couldn't tell how long) that has been laid on the south side of the new roadbed but using what looks like wooden ties not concrete.

Again today 4 units (2 GP38-2's leading 2MP15ac's) rolling westbound through Deer Park with 13 (loaded centerbeams and stone cars) cars.

Saw 153 towing 'Darth Vader' west past the New Highway crossing early this afternoon.

This morning I caught an NYAR westbound passing Pinelawn. 4 engines (2 MP15ac's leading 2 GP38-2's) and 5 loaded scrap gondolas. This morning NYAR 300, 270,155 with 6 cars (4 box (including 1 very clean RBOX), 1 loaded centerbeam, 1 tank) on the siding in Wyandanch. 300 was very clean compared to the 2 others. 300 also appears to have tinted cab windows.

The new intersection of Wellwood Ave and Long Island Ave.\Conklin St. is finally in operation. Since the new 2nd main will go through the existing Pinelawn station I'm guessing the station will be razed next. Anybody know where the new Pinelawn Station is to be located? The small one row parking lot...

There is a very large crane on Long Island Ave. driving large steel pilings into the ground by the pedestrian underpass that connects Long Island Ave. and Acorn St....

Your Junior High School...I guess that now would be the JFK Intermediate School on Lake (my son's school, daughter's middle school is Robert Frost). No activity since before Xmas. Track is missing from the switch to the Carls Path Xing with the old ties piled up off to the side. Yup. Showing my age...
