Gov't Center? That makes total sense, given they are shutting down the station soon. -_-

When the time comes for Government Center too close, will Boston College and Riverside trains turn around/terminate at Park Street? Hopefully at least one of those lines runs to North Station to facilitate transfers to orange line then blue line for passengers traveling to Logan Airport or Revere. ...

They're building an awful lot of random rooms alongside the Brattle loop and one right in the middle of the western edge of the platform. What's up with that? The rooms on the Brattle Loop will be occupying the open space on the far side of the track, away from any egresses. Theres no need for that...

The MBTA realizes that minimizing the number of transfers is vastly important to journey time. You mean the same MBTA that refuses to build the red-blue transfer, the same MBTA that keeps cutting the E line (forcing bus transfers), and the very same MBTA that plans on closing government center for ...

Speaking of structures, the one day I spent in Boston took me out to Forest Hills on the Arborway car. Does it still have the largest trainshed west of Europe, or did my imagination embellish its incredible delapidation? (This was in '83.) Arborway line was discontinued in the mid 80's. The yard is...

Cool! Can't wait to hopefully see them soon, although I always take the southern lines.

Folks, the Type 7 is not getting a new propulsion system. Some modest propulsion overhaul work is being done, but the existing DC system is not going anywhere. Figured I'd nip that in the bud before this thread goes off the rails (so to speak) with propulsion speculation. :) From what I understand ...

I'm happy to hear that the T7's will receive new propulsion, in terms of bringing longevity to my favorite fleet on the MBTA! But I'm sad at the same time, as I really like the whirling sounds they make as they accelerate and I hope the new system isn't too noisy as others have discussed. It's alway...
