Thinking about the stock portfolio is exactly what brings us to this event. Have you thought that all the environmental damage and possibility of cancer for the people that live there could be a slow burning Lac Magantic? If the news and the regulators don't keep the heat on the next time it could b...

VIA will have brand new Siemens Venture trainsets with SC-42 Siemens Charger locomotives long before Amtrak's Empire service Venture trains will have ALC-42E Siemens Charger locomotives. They will also have cab cars on their trainsets as well. Will they be very similiar? Yes. Will they be identical...

To conform it to just about every other stop on the NEC and travel patterns do change so nothing wrong with futureproofing it. Also if something does stop there full highs will always be faster than 1 minihigh with 2 door open and traps open on the rest of the train and people stepping down.

And if Amtrak is still using LTE networks while everyone is expecting 5G network not that I know what network they are using and Starlink through the tubes in New York, Baltimore, and Boston probably won't work well. The next question I have is on networks who is used as the carrier and is there eno...

My feelings are that Amtrak is thinking why should be upgrade all this equipment that is going to be replaced soon? May make good sense to the bean counters but good will to the traveling public and trying to advertise yourself to business travelers not so good. But at the same time my employer give...

They go up and down all the time during the boating season. If you hang out at Paul Revere Park you will hear the bridge sirens constantly. Also anyone ever consider the age of the bridges. If they need replacement now might as well futureproof at a cheaper cost now then a more expensive later.

And for those complaining that MOW should have the rails open are the same people who keep sharing they have stock in various Class I's and complain that with all the overhead kept on the books for occasional storms their stock prices go down. I'm also sure the same complaints about Amtrak having to...

Upon resetting the cords, they were unable to get the train to recharge. Therefore the brakes on the affected half of the train were cut out and they were doing what is called "other than head car operation". Would that mean that the trip arm wouldn't trip until the operating cab hit it? ...

UP doesn't go from Chicago to Urbana..... CN does, and any upgrades on that route were pad for by CN, not the FRA or Amtrak. The UP between Chicago to St. Louis was upgraded as a pet/pork "Almost High Speed Rail" project done under the Obama Administration as payback for political favors ...

Using local examples Does CSX get a nice road up to Portland, ME, their nifty double stack route to Worcester on the B&A, or anywhere on the MN and MBTA territory? Also I remember our vocal stockholders here giddy with joy that UP was upgraded from Chicago to Urbana. All I'm saying is your calcu...

Why should Amtrak pay more especially if it wasn't for Amtrak the private railroads would not get free upgrades payed by the government. Maybe you can elaborate here, because I'm willing to bet a steak dinner (at a place GBN eats, not an Amcafe) that Amtrak's largesse to class 1's for infrastructur...
