When I set up the train around the Christmas tree, I use Bachmann EZ track. It is high quality track. Not very prototypical, and I'd never replace flextrack with it, but for the first layout, or one what will be taken apart often, it is fine.

Considering the fact that the accident could have been MUCH MUCH worse if fuel had spilled or a major derailment could have occurred, they got off WAY too easy. I'm troubled by the idea of an e-zine being offered at no cost to the reader. Are there really that many accomplished hobbyist willing to write for free? Perhaps so but the feature article I wrote for a magazine recently netted me $600+ and these days I regard it as foolish to do so for free. CNJ99...

I quite enjoyed it. I thought it was well written and uses technology well. If you don't like the requirements for the software, then don't read the magazine.

I routinely hear CN from the Toronto area at my house (~100mi).

Non-railroad related, I have a CW conversation with someone in WI from MA (~1000 mi) one night a few years ago. That was on 1.25 m. :-D
