I was in Greenwich two weeks ago and there are still some spine cars stored in the yard. Not nearly as many as previous, but still some there. They may be newer arrivals.
S2 in Colonie is being scrapped as I type.
Just to clear up some confusion that may exist, neither myself or my organization is involved in anything happening on this site at this point. I am just reporting information forwarded to me.
Report from North Creek Monday 5/18: All locomotives currently on the railroad were located in North Creek. The two E8s were parked on the Barton siding just north of the yard with the Columbus and Greenville business car and the privately owned Ontario Northland coach. BL2 52 parked on the mainline...
Still nothing new to report. Just more phone calls and bureaucracy. I was on the site (with permission) last week and took more photos. Little has changed so I did not post any of photos.
Amsterdam show is in the books. 477 paying people. Considering it was a first attempt, it far out did everyone's expectations. I did extremely well as a vendor and others I talked to did too. Looking forward to doing it again next year!
We will see you there Ben! And don't worry, I won"t forget
For all those that actually care: The Amsterdam show is shaping up to be a good one. There have been 65 vendor tables sold, plus another 10 exhibitors. The weather is looking good (almost too good) so when you are done at the show it will be a pleasant day to take in the "railfan bridge" a...
The River Front Center is not closed, abandoned or dirty. It has offices and business in it and is open on a daily basis. It is not what it once was but it is maintained and far from derilect. John please check your facts before you type. I do the Kingston show twice a year and they DO NOT provide c...
There are two food vendors at the Mall to choose from, one pizza/pasta one Chinese. Chair rental became an issue when we couldn't get one rental place to provide both tables and chairs. No one needs to bring their own table. Kingston does not provide chairs so we didn't think it was that odd. We hav...
The 5 and 821 are owned by SNC. The 821 sees service from time to time, usually up the branch to to the mine. The 5 does not get used often as it does not fit any of the current needs of the railroad. The RS36 is privately owned. It is in desperate need of wheels and some other minor mechanical work...
Tony. The mechanical issues are real. Putting quotation marks around the word does not a conspiracy make. I hide behind no screen name. My name as well as the organization I am often representing appears at the bottom of every post. You would know that if you retained information that you read that ...
Are they doing poorly financially? I thought a lot of talk was that they were actually doing fairly well. It would be a shame if they go bust. SlackControl Tony is only here to antagonize and cause confusion. He is fabricating information to cast doubt on the solvency of this operation, which he be...
Field report from a road trip yesterday (was supposed to be a chase but the Railroad's schedule changed, much to the dismay of a few passengers at Saratoga and Hadley): Coal filled hopper cars stored on sidings at Saratoga, South Corinth, Corinth and Riverside (one). DL&W painted E8s, work flat ...
I was willing to give him the benefit of doubt, but he is showing his true colors. Don't worry about it Don. Many of us have made that mistake. Simple fact is that he can't help it. He wants the tracks torn up to Lake Placid so badly that he is willing to attack the validity of other railroad opera...
