I've been commuting to Boston on the Needham line the past few months and there seems to be no consistency in terms of which type and how many cars get assigned to a given train from day to day. Is it really as random as it seems, with whatever's available ending up on any train? The few times I've ...

Inbound Needham #604 had some sort of problem between Forest Hills and Ruggles and reversed back to Forest Hills this morning. Any idea what happened?

There is no wire on some of the Providence line. I don't know which places are and aren't electrified, but there's a stretch near Boston that doesn't have wire, the station at T.F. Greene isn't under the wire, the autorack cleared section near Providence doesn't have wire, and none of the yards hav...

I just looked at Google Lambertville and it does not show the tracks crossing from what I can tell. There never was a RR bridge there. That's correct. As I mentioned above, there never was a railroad bridge there. The BR&W in NJ is ex-PRR and the New Hope & Ivyland in New Hope is ex-RDG. Th...

How far does the BR&W operate south of Flemington? Does the line still go all the way down to the Bel-Del in Lambertville? On google maps it shows the line crossed the Deleware and continued to PA. Is this still the case? The tracks from Ringoes to Lambertville are still in place but are unused...
