Every Saturday and Sunday between 9am and 2 pm, you can see sometimes as many as 3 or 4 equipment moves of varying types and sizes and consists. It will take me time to dig them up, but I have numerous photos of mixed bag equipment moves I caught at places like Linden, Elizabeth, and Rahway. Gimme t...

Sorry for bringing back such an old thread. Anyway, I know NJT Police (and all RR police) get bashed by railfans all the time, so I wanted to share a positive experience. I was at Hamilton yesterday filming at the end of the platform so that I was out of the way of any passengers. A NJT police offi...

I've only been bothered at Hoboken Terminal. I was photographing locomotives on the west end of the platforms, when a police officer whistled to me from a few platforms over and then motioned for me to get back towards the waiting area. I complied. As far as at stations, I always stay on the statio...

This past Saturday's (02/16) NYAR freight (RS40?? 60??), "DIVIDE", Hicksville, LI, NY, GP38-2 261/ MP15AC 155 leading, looks like paying Coastal a visit. Seen at approx. 1420 hours (2:20pm) 02/16/2013 http://i45.tinypic.com/2e1hvsy.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/123mi4n.jpg http://i46.tinypic....

There is no real regularity. Much like all the other locations B750 does work at, it is as needed when needed. It could come by 2 days straight, or stop by once every 2 or more weeks. And with the weather effects on the region, especially the NH Line, no telling what the local freight schedules will...

Didn't they service King Lumber in Golden's Bridge until like sometime in the early 90's???

Last night's test train..........

West to east...... 9286/87/88/89/90/91, spotted heading west thru CP 272.

Here is the freight run down on MNR. Just keep one thing in mind, with very few exceptions, most freights on MNR run after hours to avoid conflicts with passenger service. This is a line-by-line breakdown........ Hudson Line : CSX B750 (night)/B749 (day) - Both based out of Croton West Yard, these a...

It's a Phase Break indication, indicates that the phase break is active and that engineers approaching it when running electric locos and EMUs should place their controllers in coast to pass thru the phase break section. There are devices secured to the tracks at the said locations which will knock ...

To those speaking about the rumors of MNR running Shopper's Specials into Penn, let us just wait and see what happens if and when the M-8s get their testing on the Hell Gate Line, and see who they will hold up on territory outside of MNR territory. Plus the work on extending the LIRR overrunning thi...

Well since the WOH is NORAC territory, it would definitely include those.

I definitely plan to keep my Hell Gate/NORAC qualifications. I ran as Conductor on an engineer certification run the day before the season service (revenue-wise) started, and 2 Sundays ago ran my first revenue (AM run, Jets Game 12/23), 8 single-levels, ALP46 (4617) and Comet IV cab 5029. Would be n...
