Electric operation on the N&W ended in June 1950 when the second Elkhorn tunnel opened. This would either have been the day before the tunnel opened 6/25 or on the same day 6/26

What happened to GP35 3537 3563 3574 (C&O) built between June and September 1964 that they were replaced in September 1965 by 3537:2 3563:2 3574:2 ?

Same question for SD35 7425 and 7428 built late 1964 but replaced 08.1965

Can anyone confirm a retirement date/disposition for GP40 3085. Sources on and offline do not agree and it may not have made it to CR but I can't find a Penn Central wreck report where it is mentioned.

"Car 01263 is original car 01281 and car 01281 is original car 01263. Cars were renumbered and swapped mates 08/2014."

What happened to cause the swap?
