Why did Amtrak use photoshop (or similar) to remove the road numbers from the GEs on the front cover?

Does anybody have a car roster for JFK Airtrain? All sources suggest they have 32 cars (less one wrecked??) but from riding the system and looking at photos at nycsubway.org and elsewhere numbers stretch from 101 to 123 and 201 to 214

Were some numbers not used or cars renumbered?

A post on another forum reported "NJT 4916" at NS Conway Yard. What is this unit's former number and what is 4915 ex if it exists? I only have a note of 4900 to 4914
