Looks like the NS is trying to do an end-around the STB abandonment procedures. Just read the sighted language in the footnotes regarding OFA's. Don't think the application of the exemption works here quite right. If I were Jimmy Wilson, I'd try an OFA filing anyway. If that didn't work, he could tr...

Henry 6, The address on the STB filing may confuse you, but it is known in railroad circles that the CNY filing is basically a Susquehanna filing. While it is pure speculation on my part, I can only suppose that the CNY corporate shell was used for the purpose of avoiding problems with the NYSW - BL...

The Central New York is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Susquehanna. The Susie-Q now controls the dispatching, maintenance, and operation on the line. The restrictions on interchange are minimal at best, since there is not that much local business on the line anyway. The primary advantage to the Su...

CNJFAN, It appears you truly believe what the M&E folks told you personally at the meeting you attended. Some people on this forum however, don't share your views. They believe that absent an STB filing, the M&E can't get to Bound Brook. Did you know that it is very possible for the M&E ...

Well, unless they knocked it down in the last month, the ball signal in New Hampshire sure looked good to me. I took four pictures of it. (and I'm not one to take pictures of anything usually.) It (the signal) was alive and well. As for the tracks at the junction it protected, well, that's another s...

Thanks for the information. I figured that it was at RMDI. Mr. Delevan seems to buy all of Mr. Mueller's left overs. Do you know if the engine was retired for mechanical reasons, operational reasons, etc.? While the units do lack dynamic brakes, they are still 2000 hp locomotives, 645 equipped non t...

What happened to SD38 2001?

 by The Rising ¦  Wed Sep 01, 2004 3:23 pm ¦  Forum: Pennsylvania Railfan ¦  Topic: What happened to SD38 2001? ¦  Replies: 4 ¦  Views: 1860

Hello folks,

I know that the R&N sold off three of their SD38's. I know the 2002 and 2005 went to Birdsboro.

My question is, why was the 2001 sold?

I believe it is still up at RMDI in Pittston. Thanks in advance for your help.

FYI, Those crossties are manufactured right here in NJ !! Polywood, Inc. of Edison makes the ties. The process was developed by two Rutgers University professors. The first Polywood ties were installed on the BR&W RR a number of years ago. Since then, over one million of them have been installed...

Let's go Yankees!

Greetings all !!

I was wondering if anybody knew whether or not there are any track diagrams for GCT anywhere on the web. I've tried most of the search engines, but as of yet, found nothing.

Thanks in advance!
