Some fair-use quotes from the Village Soup article: The plant will continue to operate while it processes the remaining product which could continue into early 2025 . . . . . . The reason for the decision to close is due to the high cost of fuel to operate the plant as well as the fuel to transport ...

When I started railfanning in 1998, Guilford's GP9s were 42 years old and were widely considered "antiques" by railfans at the time.

Even though the Horizons are newer, there's something about them that makes them feel older than the Amfleets. I think the harsh fluorescent lighting is at least partially responsible for this. Here are interior shots of an Amfleet and a Horizon, both having received new seats in 2019: Amfleet_Inter...

Beautiful scenery, dramatic clouds, a bright locomotive and a short old-timey-looking train... who could ask for anything more? :-)

Why is he saying that the locomotives are using "vegetable oil" and that it's Pan Am's fault? Neither comment makes any sense.

According to the letter submitted to the legislature by Bruce Sleeper of Trainriders Northeast (which is also available on the legislature's web site), the state "packed" the Mountain Division Reuse Advisory Committee with pro-trail / anti-rail folks, and he claims that's why the committee...
