And just like that the great Alstrom battery experiment is dead on the LIRR!
With it labeled Grand Central Madison. The area that LIRR took over was Metro North's Madison layup yard. LIRR through MTA Capital Construction moved that yard up in the Bronx which is what now Highbridge Yard in mid 2000's. Of course this is all along the Madison Ave side of the Grand Central Termi...
Or the current site of Deer Park train station with LI Ave?
To the original post, maybe near Suffolk Ave in Brentwood or Central Islip?
I think it benefited both crews and the railroad to have smaller freights go double ended to places. For instance if the RF-30 went to the Port Jeff branch they could turn at Hunt 3(sometimes after servicing Gaylord Paper bag/American tissue). This was instead of going all the way out to Duke siding...
The LIRR engineering department took over that former General Motors building by Central Ave. Maybe as was mentioned in Newsday a bit back they're looking to install a switch there for equipment/track cars?
There was an article written by a former EMD official that stated the LIRR geep order was the last ever EMD order intended for passenger locomotive service.
I remember the "Greasy Spoon" in Speonk. I want to say that was same place where the Little Gull is located? I always wondered if LIRR crews ate there...

Does anybody know the current whereabouts of ex LIRR geeps( barring NYA) along with the numbers and lease company they belong to now in early 2022?
Does anybody know where the ex LIRR geeps 250-277(barring NYA) are along with the numbers and current lease company they belong to?
I think the FBOX is a single plug door vs the TBOX double plug door and length you would see. Don't quote me on this but a lot of those are used for paper rolls or newsprint Plate F height with a single door to unwind or open?
Emjay Environmental came on board on NY&Atlantic around 2005/06. They were a consignee maybe until 2013 or so. AJM paper was actually north of them and the furthest north on the "back track." I didn't hear about Metro Foods maybe they're newer? AJM/Roblaw took cars even in LIRR freight...
Yes, even more Gershow. They got cleared to move C&D( like Coastal) so another switch installed facing point eastbound west of their facility. Not sure when and if they'll begin shipping. The old Synergy gas switch installed in early 90's never saw one propane car .
