According to Edward Hand’s excellent pics, the track dept was clearing or servicing the GM siding Bethpage. Perhaps for a new customer?

The LIRR engineering department took over that former General Motors building by Central Ave. Maybe as was mentioned in Newsday a bit back they're looking to install a switch there for equipment/track cars?
