The first revenue train ran on the SIRR this morning. Empty plastics hoppers were moved from Bayway, to the siding between South Ave. in Cranford and Amsterdam Ave. in Roselle.
The ROW behind Paparrato Construction and Synray has been marked with surveyor stakes. In a few spots, the rail has been marked with flourescent red/orange paint. Most of the track is buried in mud, but it is still there. All of the vehicles and containers that were parked on the track have been mov...
I agree with Trainlawyer. Let's discuss the M&E, and the cross-connected transit lines. But not the public money part. This is a rail forum. There are a lot of things many of us are not happy about our tax dollars being spent on. I don't think this is the proper place to air our gripes about it....

The M&E crew was working there last week. They removed all of the brush and trees (again) between the GSP and the Lumber Yard.
The former CNJ/RVRR Aldene yard was cleaned up east of the GSP by the the M&E this week.
I was told by an M&E employee that the track in question will be the new siding to Federal Plastics and not an interchange track. I guess we will have to wait and see.
The Railroad Construction machines have begun removing the rail and ties from the Rahway Valley between Route 28 and Michigan Avenue. When I went by late this afternoon, the one machine was parked next to Faitoute Ave. in Kenilworth. It was covered with "Stop The Train" flyers, taped to it...
