The M&E ran another train on the SIRR on Sunday. There is a string of hoppers on the siding next to the CNJ (Raritan Valley) mainline.

The ROW behind Paparrato Construction and Synray has been marked with surveyor stakes. In a few spots, the rail has been marked with flourescent red/orange paint. Most of the track is buried in mud, but it is still there. All of the vehicles and containers that were parked on the track have been mov...

I agree with Trainlawyer. Let's discuss the M&E, and the cross-connected transit lines. But not the public money part. This is a rail forum. There are a lot of things many of us are not happy about our tax dollars being spent on. I don't think this is the proper place to air our gripes about it....

I found this in the Council Minutes from the Kenilworth town meeting of 9/25/02: "Bob Singler, Fairfield Avenue, wanted to make the Council aware that they have begun to cut down the trees along the rail line. He spoke to the man who was doing this and he warned him that they will soon be using...

From what I remember about the newspaper article descibing the spraying incident, the person in question heard that someone was "spraying something" on the Rahway Valley right-of-way. He then got in his car, and CHASED the crew that was spraying the weed killer, and then he DROVE THROUGH &...

Regarding work on the RVRR, the M&E has cleaned up the former CNJ/RVRR interchange between the GSP and the lumber yard. According to the crew that was working there, work will resume on the RVRR as the weather permits. They also advised that for the time being, information about future activity ...

The M&E crew was working there last week. They removed all of the brush and trees (again) between the GSP and the Lumber Yard.

I was told by an M&E employee that the track in question will be the new siding to Federal Plastics and not an interchange track. I guess we will have to wait and see.

The Railroad Construction machines have begun removing the rail and ties from the Rahway Valley between Route 28 and Michigan Avenue. When I went by late this afternoon, the one machine was parked next to Faitoute Ave. in Kenilworth. It was covered with "Stop The Train" flyers, taped to it...
