Way over your head guys. Again, I'm not debating what your individual RR's policy is, I'm stating the fact as per the FRA there is no such thing as a Locomotive qualification.

I'm not saying what I want, I'm saying how it is. You can work at any RR in the country and understand there is no such thing as a "Locomotive qualification". Familiarization training on equipment types have no bearing on your license from running one to the other, and the FRA does not req...

Again, there is no such "Locomotive Qualification", the wording is incorrect. Whatever NJT does in house is another story (training familiarization), but not a "qualification", like how Pilot's hold type ratings on their license for aircraft types. Legally, a Locomotive, is a Loc...

Locomotive Engineer's do not "qualify" on Locomotive types.

It's due to the computer network system on the individual types and there being a proprietary issue with each manufacturer working together to make them compatible.

It's due to the use of the cab car's Hold feature in the brake valve, which would be leading a consist of cars which don't have this feature equipped, rather than the use of manually lapping vs. self lapping brake valves.

Engineers were always Conductors by default before Conductor certification came about. Why would dual certification cause the RR to give the UTU/SMART jobs?

Unless that is an internal NJT Engine Service policy, Locomotive Engineers, once their Engine(s) are properly secured, can most certainly exit their Locomotive in performance of their duties. This does not mean he has to entertain local law enforcement regarding grade crossing delays, just speaking ...

LoL every time a conductor gives two to go is an order. In my best key board to buzzer sound engh engh. It's common knowledge the conductor is in charge. The engineer answers to the Head C, the Head C does not answer to the Loco Engineer. That's why the Engineer needs conductors to call out cab sig...

I am sorry you hate Conductors so much. It must have been rough for you having to take orders from them for so many years.
Please tell us, how exactly do Locomotive Engineer's take orders from a Conductor? LOL! (Here's a hint, there's a very healthy amount of sarcasm in this post, take heed).

Like I said, cops, firefighters, and railroad workers don't have any special superpowers that us mere mortals don't have. Don't let your superiority complex confuse reality. Last night...
