It is quite possible that the 4 SD70s may also be heading to New England. There were rumors of that when the first 4 were sold.

Hello all,
I just read in Railpace that the P&W and the VRS are each getting two SD70-M-2s. These are the ex FEC units. I am wondering if this is in fact true or just another wild rumor.

Thanks in advance

Its been over 7 months since anything was discussed on this subject. Anything going on with it? Or is the Housy just pocketing the money they got from MA and not doing anything with it to expand the railroad.

I always thought of spliiting 66/67 at Washington where half the train would go to Newport News as it does today and the other half, to Roanoke, Bristol and Knoxville. I also agree Knoxvill would be the perfect anchor point.

I would like to see a resoration of a NYP-CHI via, Philly, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Toledo kind of like the 3 Rivers but leave NYP at 10pm and run overnight to Pittsburgh. then run in daylight across Ohio. if that is not doable how about a Toledo, PGH, PHL, NYP? that of course would require some money...

There is a wye just north of WUS near the Ivy City area. The capitol limited gets turned there. They may turn some regional trains there too, but I am not sure about that.

Even if P&W gave him the train for free, I don't see how you can get this thing off the ground for only $3m. If that was possible there'd be a lot more passenger rail services popping up all over America, and they'd all be privately operated. I agree, I think $30 million is a much more realisti...

South End of D&H I can see. North End is just too damn redundant with NECR. And they're too far along dumping money into NECR. Vermonter, St. Albans-E. Swanton, Connecticut...all that money's been spent, all that work is either underway, committed and about to commence, or wrapping up. That's a...
